It was around six pm on a Wednesday and though we were assured a rainless night, it had not stopped raining! Dan and I were seated there commenting on the weekend's footy, at the ready for the 6th call to arrive. Eventually we received a call from a lovely woman on a business expedition who had pulled into the Sainsburys filling garage in Haggerston and put petrol in a diesel Chevrolet rental. She was somewhat distressed it seemed, crying "I can't believe I have messed up the car! I'm just so familiar with filling up my petrol vehicle that I had forgot that I was operating a diesel!" I instructed her to take it easy and not to fret, plus that things like this often happen. She had managed to get the vehicle to a protected area and, seeing that it was just a short distance away from the office, we could reach the woman right away. The bad fuel was extracted and she could once again go back to the hotel she was living at. Despite the fact that we got really wet, it was all worthwhile seeing her drive away satisfied and less worried. Another misfuel correction in Hackney well done in my mind!

A few stories:
I am not necessarily that keen on doing the job on weekends, and the other day was the same. I had only just left home following a superb lunch prepared for us by the better half, and I was on my way to deal with a man after he put the incorrect fuel in his Jaguar. He was only in Haggerston therefore it wasn't a long time before I arrived with him. Just as I drove up at the car and got busy draining he said to me "Thank God! I had my concentration on other things and didn't perceive I had put diesel in my petrol car. Have I inflicted harm as a result of starting it?" I revealed that truth be told there should not be damage and that also I would remove the wrong fuel as soon as possible for him. It goes without saying that I removed the contaminated fuel from the vehicle and put in the correct fuel, and so another happy client was able to carry on with their ride without any subsequent fuss. The man could not stop saying thanks to me, and this is exactly what can make working on Sundays in Hackney just a tiny bit easier for me personally!
